Be Part of Our Community

Beth Israel welcomes people of all backgrounds who are part of Jewish families to find a home in our congregation. We are committed to maintaining the rich traditions and lessons of our Jewish heritage. We warmly welcome couples and families of interfaith and invite and encourage participation by all family members and spouses in our congregational life. We believe the spiritual interests of both our congregation and those of our interfaith couples and families are better served by inclusion within the nurturing community of Beth Israel.

Interfaith Action

Our Larger Community

The Interfaith Action Community is a group of congregations and faith communities (among them are Beth Israel, St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Islamic Society of Chester County, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, St. Elizabeth’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Downingtown Friends Meeting, the Lionville YMCA, Bahá'í Faith, etc.) coming together to educate each other on our faith traditions, learn about our similarities, celebrate the differences, and to cooperate on religious action project such as on homelessness in our community, alleviating hunger, etc.

We meet once a month at Beth Israel and once a month we visit a different community (Beth Israel in October, Islamic Center in November, St. Matthew’s in December, St. Elizabeth’s in January and Hindu Temple in February). These visits are open to all.
