Dear Vav and Zayin
parents,
If your child is in
sixth or seventh grade this year, and has not yet celebrated his/her bar/bat
mitzvah, it is necessary for you to
attend the B’nai Mitzvah parents’ meeting to be held on Sunday, September 14th,
at 10:15 A.M. This is the only B’nai Mitzvah meeting planned for this school
year.
During this meeting, you
will receive guide booklets as well as participate in discussions of several
items of importance: protocol for the Bar/Bat Mitzvah, the Mitzvah Project,
oneg responsibilities and will receive short presentations by the Rabbi, the
Education Director, the B’nai Mitzvah teachers and other interested parties
such as Sisterhood, Men’s Club, and the Gift Shop. We hope to answer many of your questions
during this time.
Parents of sixth grade
students are included at this meeting since the students’ mitzvah projects must
be started in sixth grade, and it is a good idea to be aware of the expectations
and policies of the synagogue, and to begin thinking about planning your
celebration.
Kindly RSVP to let us
know that you will be able to attend this meeting. You may either e-mail Joanie
(sharpjoanie@yahoo.com) or leave a message at the synagogue office.
Mazel Tov on this
exciting time in your family’s life!
L’hitraot,
Joanie Sharp
